Where Hearts Are Free by Golden Keyes Parsons

This book starts out with Bridget Barrington who is in love with one of her father's indentured servants, Philippe Clavell. As the years pass, she grows more fond of him every day, and eventually asks her parents if they would approach Philippe on the concept of courting her. Her parents disagree, and she gets engaged to another man of her parents choosing. Bridget's new fiance is a danger to her though, and she doesn't know it. She has to find a way out of her predicament without upsetting her parents. I can usually read books pretty quickly, especially if they're not very thick such as this one was. However, it took me about a month and a half to read this one because I just couldn't get into it. First, it was a romance novel which is not my liking, and secondly, it seemed like the most suspenseful part of the book was at the very end. I would have probably stopped reading it entirely if I hadn't needed to review it. For those of you out there who like romance novels, I recommend you read this just to see what it's about, but if you're a fantasy or adventure guru like myself, I suggest that you stay away from this book. I don't hold it against anyone not to read it, just in my opinion, you should think about what you like before you consider this book. I got this book from Booksneeze for free, so I had to finish it and give my honest opinion.

The Sable Quean by Brian Jacques

This book is really great. I won't say anything that spoils the ending, but all I have to speak of is that this is a phenomenal book. I think that it's one of, if not the sole best Redwall book written by Brian Jacques. I am a huge fan of Redwall and have been for a long time, and I've read almost all of the books, so when I say it's good, that's something. The only competitors I can think of right now would be either Triss or Taggerung. If you're looking for a great read, I highly recommend The Sable Quean, especially if you've been a Redwall fan though and through. It's a sure treat. Also, if you've never read a Redwall book before, this one is great to get a feel for the series.
